Servings: 4-6
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 4 slices bacon, diced
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup pecans, roughly chopped (optional, for crunch)
Instructions:
- Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place on a paper towel to drain, but leave the rendered fat in the pan.
- Sauté the Brussels Sprouts: Add olive oil to the skillet, if needed, and place Brussels sprouts cut side down. Let them cook undisturbed for 5 minutes until they begin to caramelize, then stir and cook another 5 minutes.
- Glaze and Serve: Drizzle maple syrup over the Brussels sprouts and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add the bacon back into the pan, along with the pecans (if using), and cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well-coated. Serve warm and enjoy the sweet, smoky flavors!
