I'm a color lover through and through, but there is something so refreshing about a black + white piece. It's such a palette cleanser.
My friend and interior designer, Kristen Nix, always says "Every room needs something black in it." She believes that black grounds the room, even when it has other colors in it. In my living room, we have a pretty black chinoiserie chest that in my opinion MAKES the room. It draws the eye in and gives it somewhere to rest.
