Delicious Nut-Free No-Bake Energy Bites: A 10-Minute Recipe You’ll Love

Looking for a quick, nutritious, and nut-free snack? These No-Bake Energy Bites are perfect! Not only are they super easy to make, but they’re also highly adaptable to fit your taste and dietary needs. I have been keeping them in the fridge to snack on during the day, and also sending as snacks to pre-school since they are nut-free!

Start with the basic recipe, and feel free to get creative with your mix-ins.

For a protein boost, add two scoops of unflavored collagen protein powder. You can also toss in flax seeds or hemp seeds for an extra dose of healthy fats. Dried cranberries add a touch of sweetness, and a swirl of real peanut butter can make these bites even more irresistible. (Note: if you need to keep it nut-free, substitute the peanut butter with sunflower seed butter or simply leave it out.)

If you prefer your energy bites to be smoother and less chunky, you can use a food processor to mix everything before forming the balls. I opted for a more rustic texture, but either way, they’re delicious!

Here’s the basic recipe, with optional add-ins:

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup nut butter (or sunflower seed butter for nut-free)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds (optional)
  • 2 scoops unflavored collagen protein powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (optional)

Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, mini chocolate chips, and shredded coconut.
  • In a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat the honey (or maple syrup) and nut butter (or sunflower seed butter) until melted and smooth. Stir to combine.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix well. (For a smoother texture, you can blend everything in a food processor before forming the balls.)
  • If using, stir in the flaxseed, chia seeds, collagen protein powder, and dried cranberries.
  • Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before enjoying.
With just a few simple ingredients and a bit of creativity, you can customize these energy bites to be your go-to snack. Enjoy the flexibility and the taste!
